No. 648 Fresh Paint Dahlia Demo

Fresh Paint Dahlia Demo
Oil on Canvas
11" x 14"

The demo from the second day at the Fresh Paint festival in Everett. The dahlias are a spectacular variety from my backyard. I don't know what possessed me to take on a complicated flower like dahlias as a public demo, but there you have it.

No. 647 Fresh Paint Doughnut

Fresh Paint Doughnut
Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas
12"  x 12"

This painting is a demo from the Fresh Paint Festival in Everett.
I've been pleasantly surprised at how popular my doughnut and pie paintings have been.
So I thought it would be a fun subject for the festival. I received lots of offers to add
interest by taking a bite out of my prop. I didn't take up any of the offers
because I was afraid they wouldn't stop at just one. :)

No. 645 Farmer's Market Sunflowers 2

Farmer's Market Sunflowers 2
Oil on Linen Panel
7" x 5"

I am thoroughly enjoying the Everett Farmer's Market.
There are three or four booths bursting at the seams with locally grown flowers. It is a
blast wandering from booth to booth looking for the perfect bouquet. :)

This week was the beginning of my Monday evening class. Lucky me! I have not one but two wonderful groups of students to teach.

Jill blocking in her pear.

Emily painting with purpose and finesse.

Shannon on fire! Her second painting of the evening.

No. 642 The Tinkling of Gold and Silver

The Tinkling of Gold and Silver
Oil on Gessobord
6" x 6"

Another still life inspired by the oil painting class I'm teaching. We started back up with a bang last week after a summer break. Intermediate students worked on learning how to paint glass and the beginners worked on value studies of pears. It is such a kick to see what people create...

Peggy working on a glass study...

It turned out lovely!

Karen Bakke's wonderful glass study.

Carol's terrific pear. She says she is a beginner. I'm not so sure... :)

No. 641 Coupeville Wharf Plein Air

Coupeville Wharf - Plein Air
Oil on Linen Panel
7" x 5"

Enjoyed a lovely summer afternoon painting this on the edge of beautiful Penn Cove.

Spent the morning with the amazing Ms. Holly Stafford hanging my lastest show at the Woodfire Grill. The reception will be this Wednesday evening starting at 6pm. Happy hour prices apply during the reception. They have a great happy hour menu. Can't wait to partake!

This is my third show at Anthony's Woodfire Grill. A huge thanks to Holly and the Grill for having me back.

I knew my "Artist Point" painting would look great there. :)

Craven Pumpkins - one of my favorite watercolors.

The view my paintings are enjoying...

Then end of the pier is a teeny, tiny walk from the restaurant.
The show will be up until the end of October. I hope you get a chance to see it!
