I found this terrific bottle at an estate sale in Seattle. I'm assuming it's a sake bottle but I really have no idea. Please let me know if I'm wrong!

 

 I have procrastinated posting this painting because Elizabeth gave me a perfectly good suggestion in a critique which I have yet to implement. Sorry Elizabeth! I'll get to it eventually. :)

It's that time of year when I can paint flowers not bought from the store or gifted from my neighbor's yards (bless their hearts) but from my very own garden. I'm so proud. :)

I was very happy to discover this silver creamer in an antique store in Snohomish. Gosh, I like shiny things. The gerber daisy is from one of my flower boxes. I don't usually grow them but the intense color and long life of the flowers make them pretty irresistible. Now I just need to learn how to keep from killing the plants!

Same set up as yesterday just a different view. Something about that

large black shape balanced against the intense red of the gerber daisy works for me. :)

My favorite part of this painting is the lime. I feel like I captured

a really nice sense of roundness there.
