Day 256 Another Antique Rose
Antique Rose 3 Oil on Gessobord 6 x 6
They keep on coming. This one reminds me of something you'd find on a birthday cake.
Daily painting has been a surprising comfort these days. I suspect the routine of it and the focus needed to complete a painting is what makes it a nice respite. Getting the paintings photographed for blogging is a different story. So my blogging might be intermittent for a bit, just to let you know...

Day 255 My Mom and More Antique Roses
Once again we are at the Antique Rose Farm. It's a painting I'm sure my mom would've liked as she loved roses and antiques.
A favorite photo of my mom and me. She passed away a little over a week ago after a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease. She was smart, funny, creative, patient, adventurous and the perfect mom for me. She's the reason I became a painter.

Looking forward to revisiting this field of sunflowers in Snohomish this fall. I remember buying a huge bunch of flowers that lasted for ages. Perfect for still lifes!

Day 245 Party on the Beach
Party on the Beach 6 x 6 Oil on Gessobord Plein Air
A party on the beach was a great way to end the 13th annual Playgroup camp out in Astoria. I don't know which contains more sand, my shoes or this painting. :)

Day 244 Fort Stevens
Fort Stevens 5 x 7 Oil on Gessobord Plein Air
Fort Stevens State Park lies in the very tippy tip of northwest Oregon, where the Columbia River meets the Pacific Ocean. You can check out old civil war era military bunkers here as well as pretty peak-a-boo water views like this.
