I spent the morning painting in one of the very charming little side streets of Vence. It's a rough little painting. I need a lot more practice painting medieval French side streets. I did enjoy quietly observing the flow of a Saturday morning in Vence. It seems to be a popular day for doing laundry and practicing the flute. This duvet hanging out the window really caught my eye.
I painted this today sitting in the garden at Ville Le Reve. This is where we spend our time during the art retreat when we are not out visiting art museums. I keep having "Enchanted April" moments here. Hopefully you are familiar with the movie. It's one of my all time favorites. I think it's the beautiful light and birdsong that makes me feel that way.
Check out the beautiful light in the kitchen this evening.
Sorry I didn't give more warning but we are currently in the Amsterdam airport waiting for the last leg of our flight to Nice. A big thank you to my brother Nathan for dropping me off at the Vancouver airport yesterday. The first leg was nine hours. Lots of great movies to choose from on the KLM flight made the length more bearable. I highly recommend "Hidden Figures". Now I really need a nap! Not until I get on the plane though....
