No. 715 Parisian Market Find

Parisian Market Find
Oil on Linen Panel
5" x 7"

This past summer I found this lovely little creamer while on a morning meander through a street market in Paris. Thank goodness for the universal language of gestures since I didn't speak French and my brother-in-law who always carried cash on him. Thanks Andy! I think I still owe you that Euro.

No. 380 Cannon Beach Creamer

Cannon Beach Creamer
Oil on Linen Panel
5" x 7"

Phew! That break was a little longer than I had intended due to vacation blues, winter blues and a couple of really disappointing paintings. We're back though with the best painting of the week. Last summer I discovered this pretty creamer in an antique shop in the fun little town of Cannon Beach, Oregon.

Day 278 Silver Creamer with Lime and Geranium

Silver Creamer with Lime and Geranium
Oil on Gessobord
5 x 7

I had a really great time hunting for still life props during our travels
this summer. This silver creamer leaped out at me in a Goodwill
store outside of Astoria, Oregon. I was more than happy to take it home.

Day 181 Pansies, Creamer and aThank You

Pansies and Creamer
Oil on stretched canvas
5 x 7

You know it's just occurred to me that I've gotten a lot of mileage
out of those little purple and orange pansies. They are a
great little accent.

I am celebrating six months of daily paintings today! It's hard
to believe I've been doing this for six months already. It's also
a little hard to believe I've got another six months to go. :)

As part of my celebration I've put together this collage of
some of the daily paintings I've sold. A huge, HUGE thank
you to everyone who has purchased a painting. And also a special thank you to everyone
who takes the time to follow my blog. Your support is deeply and sincerely appreciated!

Day 63

A Whole Lotta Blue
Watercolor
5 x 7

It never ceases to amaze me how what appears to be a simple
composition can take me hours to paint. In some cases the
less there is the more there is to see. Reflected light becomes very
noticable. I find reflected light much easier to paint in oils then
watercolor. So of course this took me hours to paint.

Day 59

Megan's Sugar Bowl
Watercolor
6 x 6

Sketch of Megan's Sugar Bowl
Previous to starting the Daily Painting Adventure I was doing
a fair amount of sketching. Books, teachers, the web, they all say how
important it is to draw as much as you can. So I've decided to add a
drawing element to my daily painting. I will draw for at
least fifteen minutes before I begin to paint.
If nothing else, this blog keeps me accountable.
As a result, you will be sort of forced to look at my drawings.
Plein air painting is the exception as the light is changing so rapidly.
Thanks for hanging in there with me!
