I had a great time painting those apricots. They are now high on my

list of potential fruit props. Certainly one perk is when I'm tired

of painting them they are a great snack!

A more simplified version of the tulips than I have been

painting. That brass pitcher is a pretty cool little piece. It needs

to model more often. I'd love to know its history.

I have a feeling I probably should've posted this one

closer to Valentine's Day. Ah well, I couldn't wait that

long. I'm feeling better about painting on Ampersand

Gessobord. I think with this painting surface you either

have to be very bold with your paintbrush or

very delicate. Inbetween doesn't work very well.

I do really like the fact that it is an archival product

that is ready to go should someone decide they want it.

Happy Valentines Day a little over a month early!

I spotted this pitcher in the Whidbey thrift store and immediately

fell in love. What a shape! Then I looked at the price and almost

had a heart attack. Thirteen whole dollars! By far the most I've

ever spent on a still life prop.  I couldn't leave without it though. :)

 

A huge thanks to my husband Don for hanging yet another shelf

for me today. This one is specifically for still life set ups. Now I

have my art desk back. I saw the idea in a library book I checked out

yesterday. You never know what you'll find at the library!
