No. 761 Palette Knife Poinsettia 2

Palette Knife Poinsettia #2
Oil on Canvas Panel
6" x 6"

Good grief! Could Christmas really only be a week away?

More experimenting with the palette knife. It's easy to create a lot of interesting texture with this tool.

No. 634 Golden Goblet with Pear

Golden Goblet with Pear
Oil on Linen Panel
7" x 5"
This painting has a bit of a "Renaissance" feel that I love. I used a palette knife to break things up a bit and add some variety to the edges and background.

Stage one of getting ready for the Coupeville Arts and Crafts festival has been completed. All paintings have been signed and edges touched up. Now it is time to pull out the tent and try to remember how to put everything together...

No. 558 Ladies Weekend Away

Ladies Weekend Away
Oil on Linen Panel
5" x 7"
Sold

A few weekends ago the moms group I've been a part of for sixteen years abandoned their families for a relaxing weekend on Whidbey Island. We rented a gorgeous house on the water. I painted this interior during out stay there. If it was daylight, you would see the Puget Sound out those windows. It was truly awesome. What a way to chase off the post holiday blues!

No. 456 Antique Rose Farm #3

 Antique Rose Farm #3
Plein Air
Oil on Gessobord
5" x 7"

Dina returned with me to paint a second day at the farm. She happened to notice a view that was very similar to a wonderful painting she already owned. So we set to work to create our own version of her lovely little painting. A fun idea I will admit.

My painting just after it was finished sitting on the fence I was standing behind while I worked.

A slightly different view of some of the roses we were painting. Sigh, aren't they lovely?

No. 374 Still Life at Suzy's

Still Life at Suzy's
Oil on Canvas Board
In my quest to find new and interesting props to paint, I have had the help of many friends. A HUGE thank you to everyone who lent me new subjects and even let me invade their home in my search. You guys are the best!!!

Creating your own daily painting practice - Step #7
Okay, if you thought step #6 was scary just check out this one...
Make it Public
There's nothing like having someone watching to keep oneself accountable. So tell everyone you are doing this, friends, family and co-workers. It's actually a kick because most people are impressed that you are willing to attempt this. Another way to go public is to have a blog or post on Facebook. Of course, since you are reading my blog you know this. :)

Day 182 Apricots, oh yes!

Apricots
Oil on Gessobord
6 x 6

While walking through the produce department at the grocery store,
these little gems caught my eye. They practically glowed underneath
their soft fuzzy coat. Positively luscious!
