While I continue to paint outside everyday, I've not been so good about posting. Few of the paintings are finished outside because it's just too cold and wet but this past Sunday was a different story. It was a flat out gorgeous day and a perfect one to visit Coupeville on Whidbey Island.

Enjoyed a lovely summer afternoon painting this on the edge of beautiful Penn Cove.

 

Spent the morning with the amazing Ms. Holly Stafford hanging my lastest show at the Woodfire Grill. The reception will be this Wednesday evening starting at 6pm. Happy hour prices apply during the reception. They have a great happy hour menu. Can't wait to partake!

 

 

This is my third show at Anthony's Woodfire Grill. A huge thanks to Holly and the Grill for having me back.

 

 

I knew my "Artist Point" painting would look great there. :)

 I am proud as punch of this little painting. When I saw Colleen's collection of old bikes in her Coupeville garden, I knew they had to be painted. Could I paint something as complicated as a bike in plein air? I had serious reservations about that. It was a beautiful afternoon, though, and Colleen was very generous with permission to move the bikes anywhere I wanted to. So, I gave it a whirl. The bike is far from perfect but considering it was painted in plein air, I'm very pleased. Can't wait to go try it again!

Terrific news! The art festival went great! It was a lot of work but I sold many paintings and met all kinds of wonderful people. A big thank you to everyone who decided to take one or sometimes up to six paintings of mine home. A HUGE thank you to my family for all of their help. I couldn't have done it without you guys!

Day 234 Back to the Market

So check this out.... I returned to the farmers market in Coupeville on Saturday. On one side of me was the kettle corn wagon...

On the other side was a local nursery...

Temptation on both sides! Did I succumb? Why, yes I did!

Went into Coupeville for an ice cream cone and found Penn Cove full of sailboats flaunting their bright, colorful spinnakers. Apparently it was race week. How sad I was I didn't know this sooner. After only a few pictures, the battery died on my camera. iPad to the rescue! I was able to get a few more photos but not nearly enough for my liking. Next year, just you wait......

Once upon a time I thought I would have more opportunities to paint while camping than at home. Boy was I wrong. In an attempt to continue squeezing daily painting in, while on the road, I've started painting even smaller. Creating these tiny pieces has been surprisingly satisfying.
