No. 441 Mini Oranges

Mini Oranges
Oil on Canvas Panel
4" x 4"

A quick little painting I created while staying at our cabin on Whidbey Island. I'm very pleased with this little thing. I really like the loose, painterly quality and would like to paint this way more often. After consulting Elizabeth on how to keep this style on larger paintings, we agreed that much larger brushes were needed. Shucks, I'm going to have to order some new brushes. :)

Day 115 - Oh yes, more tulips

Tulips at Night
7 x 5
Oil on Gessobord

I almost forgot to post this one. The tulips with the red streaks
in the petals were very long lasting. I think I got a whole
weeks worth of paintings out of them. Money well spent.
I have to admit in the past I've turned my nose up at tulips.
So much money for a flower that fades so quickly. I've
noticed that setting them out in the garage at night really extends
their life span. Now I'm hooked.

Day 96 Karen's Place #2

Karen's Place #2

I love this placemat Karen's mom made. It is called Hardanger embroidery.
I understand she did a lot of this type of handiwork and Karen has absolutely
no intention of carrying on the tradition. I really like the white on white. I painted
it in more detail in the next painting.

I'm excited to mention that Karen is the author of the book
" The Amazing Adventures of Working Girl: Real-Life Career Advice You Can Actually Use"
As Karen has a terrific sense of humor and a wonderful way with words you
know this book is a great read. Click here to visit her website.
