No. 627 Admiralty Lighthouse - Mini Plein Air

Admiralty Lighthouse - Mini Plein Air
3" x 5"
Oil on Linen Panel

It's become a bit of a tradition.  On one of the first mild days of spring, I find myself drawn to paint this lighthouse every year. The wonderful smell of the sea, the wind rustling in the trees and the sun on my back is quite the balm on a winter weary soul.

No. 498 Admiralty Lighthouse - Plein Air Mini

Admiralty Lighthouse - Plein Air Mini
Oil on Canvas Panel
3" x 5"

It was a perfect plein air painting experience. Warm sunshine with a mild, salty breeze and the sound of the surf nearby made this an exceptional location for painting. I'm even pretty happy with how the painting turned out!

Admiralty Lighthouse is looking fine in the late summer sunshine.

Love these trees next to the lighthouse. I've painted them numerous times in oils and watercolors. One of my all time favorite hangouts on Whidbey Island.
